Similar problem... I'm the only user... guest is turned off.
I tuned off both the "fast user switching" and "Use the Welcome
Screen".
controluserpasswords2 box is clear (no checkmark) only my user name
and guest shows again all grayed out, since not checked.

Now I have the logon screen. My name is already in it and I have no
password, so all I have to do is click on it.
Any way to get of that box too, so it goes straight to the desk top.

My desktop pc, does just that. I can't seem to find any differences in
the settings though.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.
