Hello,
It took me 10 days to install Windows XP on a SATA drive.
To avoid this i future and reinstall of all programs and settings, I
want to make an image.
Thats not difficult. The problems come when I need it.
How do I make an image easy to install when needed?
Ghost 2003 is suggested several times.
Best if it can install from a boot CD or DVD.
I like Acronis TrueImage. Install TI and make the bootable cd.
Purchase an external hard drive or have a second hard drive installed
in the machine (I prefer the external ones for this). With the
external hard drive connected to the main computer, restart the
computer and boot with the TI boot disk.
Now create a full Backup (not clone) of the drive and save it on the
external hard drive. When you want to restore that image, you'll
attach the external drive and boot with the TI boot disk and follow
the wizard to restore the image.

What is the difference between a clone and an image and what would be any
advantage of using one method over the other? I keep clones ready to swap
installed in drawers and can't think of a faster way. 30 seconds tops.
