Hi, All,
I want to use Remote Desktop to remote login my computer. I have
select Allow users to connect remotely to this computer. And I have to
go Select Remote User to add my login username. But when I used
another computer in our network, I can connect to my computer, I got
the login screen, but after I typed my user name and password. I got
the following message:
Your interactive login privilege has been disabled please contact your
system administrator.
Does anybody know why and how to fix the problem?
Thanks in advance,
As the message says - contact your system administrator. They may be
able to fix it, or explain why they won't (company policy?).
It sounds like some restrictions have been placed on your account such as
how many or which workstations you are allowed to log into, or what types
of login you are allowed. Are these machines members of a domain, or are
they standalone - i.e. do you also see a domain name as well as your
username and password when you log in? When you log into a remote
machine, you may have to add a domain name to your username.
You may have added your account to the allowed remote users on that one
machine, but if you are in a domain, your account may be restricted at
the domain level. To make the changes you decribe, you must have been
logged in as a local administrator on that one machine, but you would
need to be a domain administrator to change the domain restrictions.
Or are YOU the system administrator? When you say "my" computer, do you
mean you own it, or that you are allowed to use it by someone else who
owns it? If you do not own it, you likely have no rights to change some
things.
