Has there been any resolution to the issue of third party antivirus programs

There has been a resolution from way back in the Beta. There are several AV programs that work well in Vista including Avast, AVG (both free), and PC-Cilian, Ca eTrust, and I believe NOD32.
Will I be able to install Norton
Antivirus/Firewall if I buy or upgrade to Windows Vista in a few months?
If you're lucky you won't. Avoid the Norton home products. They are, at best, resource hogs, and at worse cause any one of a number of system problems and are very hard to remove.
Why aren't you asking this in a Vista newsgroup. This one is for the XP OS.
