Older versions ( prior to the introduction of Product Activation ) was
not as bad [ ~2003 ]. Their (Symantec) enterprise products aren't as
bloated/problematic according to some posters here. To me it seems
like most of the issues surround their Common Client Service. That
one alone is a resource black hole.
Was checking their website this AM to verify subscription rates and
noticed a beta for 360, guess that's their answer to Windows 1-Care.
I still have a few versions of Ghost on a bootable CD-R. Beyond that
I'm Symantec free. Still think the packaging is the right color - Yellow
for CAUTION.

This is true with SytemWorks. With this loaded your PC runs like a boat
dragging it's anger. But I have not seen this with NAV and/or NIS or NFW

Wait until you eventually uninstall them (?) and see if your statement
still remains true. Perhaps you don't realize or notice how much of
your PC's performance has been diminished by using Norton. Most
users who move to other products generally comment on how much
faster the PC runs without Norton. I've personally untangled more
than 200 computers with Norton software and can tell you for a fact
it's ( Norton Home product line ) a lot of trouble for the money. Not
just Norton, but most professional IT folks would add McAfee to the
list of products to avoid. Add to that the licensing cost and that's one
more reason to give Norton a Thumbs down. Even eTrust or CA AV
now provides 3 licenses with a $49 purchase. Last time I checked a
Norton subscription per seat was $39.

| Don't put Norton anything on your machine. Avast is a very good anti
| virus and it's free. http://www.avast.com/ Vista comes with a
firewall.
