Re: Help for fixing CD Recording Wizard

Rock shared these words of wisdom:

It seems that the problem is mainly solved.
And the guilty part for that is YOU <gbg>

[Autofix utility]

Lol..guilty as charged.

;-) ;-)

What we don't know is what hosed things in
the first place.

Indeed.
Would be really god to know what had caused the problems.

[Roxio / Nero]
Btw it wasn't my theory that either of those
caused the problem, just that they were a possibility, and I don't
think that's been ruled out.

I think so.
Both Nero and Roxio are back and the entries for "UpperFilter" and "LowerFilter" are from Roxio.
I'd rather suspect changes made by Windows Media Player or iLink which had recently been installed when I first detected the problem.

There is insufficient data to say what caused it.

Only too true :-( :-(
And it's really strange that AutoFix fixed the problem.
But - as said before - the real problem was the inability of the sytem to detect the TYPE OF MEDIUM in the drives.
No idea where in Windows the machinery for that may be hidden.

Even if we don't know what really was the matter (definitely not the usual problems with Adaptec/Roxio drivers getting in the way after an incomplete uninstall) - the End is well, so All is well.
Only too sad that Manuel - who had started *this* thread - obviously gave up to early.

A million of thanks and the best wishes for a happy and prosperous 2007
