Re: Failed Windows XP reinstall

I don't get that option, press any key but I know it's definitely booting
from the CD. I've already changed the BIOS to make sure it goes to CD first.
I also can stop it as it restarts by pushing on of the f function keys and it
asks me then how i want to boot. The first I tried was the cd. But if you go
back and read my error message again, you'll see that it's saying that it's
missing something. if i take the disc out and the computer restarts, it looks
for the disc and then it asks me to put it in, then i get the error messages
again.

Just try doing this as soon as your computer restarts hitting any key. This
should make your computer read the cd from the right drive.

Then you just follow what's on the screen and format your harddrive first
and do a clean install.

Format using the longer version of format not the quick to get rid of all
information on your computer.

If it a standard XP Cd you should be able to boot to it and remove the
existing partition and install fresh. Some OEM PC's require a manufacturers
CD to boot from which then asks for the OEM XP CD

Then that just repeats over and over again as if to say, na na ha ha you
can't install me.

One of my friends suggested getting a windows 98 boot disc and i'm
workingon
that but anyone else have any ideas?

I'm using my brother's computer right now b/c my computer is in a constant
loop. When I get the error box then close it, it reboots and goes
through
the same steps. I can't get any other option there. I think the problem
is,
I was already using XP when I was trying to install it etc...
