I formatted my dell and installed windows XP (came with my system),
installed Norton Systemworks along with spybot and ad-aware.
What problem(s) were you trying to resolve by formatting and reinstalling Windows?
Did you enable the Windows Firewall or a third-party firewall before going online for the first time after formatting/reinstalling?
Did you uninstall the preinstalled-at-the-factory anti-virus/internet security application before installing NSW?

Were NAV, Spybot Tea Timer & SDHelper and/or Ad-Watch (if you're running Ad-aware Pro) running/enabled when you attempted to install SP2?

windows update about 80 or so then the problem began. I went back into
window update to
make sure I got all of them and there was one more Windows XP Service Pack
2. It started installing then all of a sudden I get a popup from Service
Pack 2 setup that said Access is denied then I said ok. Another popup box
that said service pack 2 installations did not complete. Select ok to undo
the changes that have been made. Selected ok and it did its thing. Then
another popup box saying service pack 2 installations did not complete.
Windows XP has
been partially updated and may not work properly. And it was right. I
rebooted then got a blue screen that said STOP 00000 (not sure how many
zeros) the session manager initialization system process terminated
unexpectedly with a status of 000 (don’t know how many zeros). The system
has been shutdown. The computer now keeps rolling from the blue screen to
the windows logo, the dell screen, blue screen etc. The desktop never
loads.
Any help would be appreciated.
