If I let windows xp sit for a couple of minutes then login, everything
works fine. But if I login without waiting, I get to my desktop view
but am unable to do anything. I even have to hold the power button
for 5 seconds to start over. Is there anything I can do about this?
That could be caused by a lot of things, but it isn't all that unusual.
Mostly it's a matter of having to wait until all the housekeeping is
completed before you can use the machine. There are "fixes" for it, but it
might be more than you're capable of taking on right away, depending on your
experience level. It won't hurt anything and as long as everything is
working well, I'd just learn to expect the delay.
