Link to 'User's Documents' in 'My Computer' deleted.

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

After rebooting the computer from an unsafe shutdown and logging into
my account on Windows XP - a small, unfamiliar message box loaded on
the top-left hand corner reading lines similar to "Applying personal
settings" and "Loading user profile". Once loaded, the background of my
account was reset to default and most of the icons previously on the
desktop were not present.

I logged off and reset the computer, logging back in after startup to
find everything back to normal - except that the link to 'User's
Documents', or in this case, 'Bhaskar's Documents' in My Computer was
no where to be seen. 'My Documents' and all the contents inside were
still present in the startup menu as well as in the C drive, yet the
link in My Computer to 'User's Documents' was deleted. I had not
deleted, modified or moved any folders from the C:\Documents and
Settings directory, and performed no significant tasks earlier except
removing a program with Add/Remove Programs in the control panel.

If there is a way to restore this folder / link in My Computer, then I
would greatly appreciate any assistance - also if there is any
information as to how such a folder / link is removed in the first
place, that would be of help as well.
