Rock shared these words of wisdom:
If I recollect I said that some 3rd party programs disable the
windows in build burning software. This is probably what's
messing with the IMAPI service.
This is not true for the newer versions of Roxio as well as Nero.
I did not have any problem with Roxio 5.0 and 6.0 on my desktop
computer where now IMAPI is broken and behaves totally erratical.
And Roxio 6.x and Nero 6.0 co-exist happily with the XP burning
(IMAPI) on my old notebook as well as my new TabletPC.
You could uninstall that software.
This did not help om my side - even after ahving used Roxio and
Nero's cleaning utilities.
IMAPI still behaves totally erratical.
Well it's not coexisting now.
What do you want to say by this?
Do you think that this might be of help???
I can only repeat that there is no problem on two of my three machines (those in my lab not counted <!>).
And there was no problem until recently.
And I had cleaned evrything possible to no avail.
I'm pretty sure that it is something else.
But what?
Rainald
