Re: USB thumb drive issues

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I recently installed all of the new SP2 updates and now when I try to use one
of my USB thumb drives it seems to "lock" up my "My Computer" folder. All
other USB devices are working fine. There is no error message and nothing
seems out of the ordinary in Device Manager. When I first plug in the drive I
can start to access the contents but then it locks up. I have a few diferent
drives and they all do the same thing now. Is it possible that I lost
something during a software install or is it being caused by a Windows
glitch???

It's unclear what new SP2 updates you installed. What you could try, if things worked before these updates, is to remove them using Add/remove programs and then do a system restore to before they were installed to see if that corrects the issue. If so then add them back one at a time to see if you can find out which one is causing the problem.
