Re: Dual monitor

An X600 SE is PCI-e sorry to say that to my knowledge this cannot be
accomplished. You would need to buy a new video card with dual video support.

It's 128MB ATI RADEON X600 SE, think thats PCI not e.

Can't find any bios setting.

Please reply and let us know the exact model of your ATI video Card and
specs. Is it PCI or PCI-e? You may need a new video card in order to
achieve dual monitors. In all likely hood your on board video card has been
disabled in BIOS. You may be able to find a setting in your BIOS to enable
the onboard video. Let us know so we can help you out.

It has one VGA and one S-Video for TVs.

It is PCI.

The "vertical" port is the motherboard built in video, if your ATI card is
AGP, there is no way to enable the onboard video port, you can have one or
the other, not both. If the ATI card is PCI it should work, you may be
having a driver or compatibility problem.
Does your ATI card have a second output?

I'm trying to add a second monitor to my optiplex system.

It has a horizontal video port at the bottom of the system (ATI video card
vga port) and there is another VGA port that is verticle, further up the
system rear.

I am using the ATI port at the moment, but I tried plugging the second
monitor into the other VGA slot and it says no video input.

I have done the "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" for the
second
monitor, but it still doesn't work.

What do I need to buy to get the second one working? Or can I just adjust
options seeing as I already have two ports?

Thanks
