First thing to do is run the hard drive mfg's diagnostics and rule out

Hi,
The strangest thing happened last night, I was happily playing
Battlefield 2 on my PC when all of a sudden the computer crashed,
turned off and started to reboot. Upon re boot It gave a message
"System disk error". After playing around for a while I decided to
repair my XP installation.
Finally I finished this process updated XP with all the latest
patches
and guess what, when I re booted the same error.
I don't get it if the hard drive was failing I shouldn't be able to
repair windows and re boot after the repair right?
I thinking that its some sort of malicious virus, I have been playing
around with emuleplus although when I do this its always in a
sandboxed
environment.
Here is a challenge as the techies at work are even scratching their
heads.
Does anyone have any ideas to what may be causing this problem.
Cheers
.
