Then something is running in normal mode which is invoking the error. Do

OK, before I do anything, I'm using Windows 2000 Pro.

Do you happen to have links for Windows 2000 Pro?
Sorry I don't. I don't know if win2000 has msconfig or how you do that in win2000.
