Re: cannot ftp to any site with any client
Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance
Cannot ftp to any site from my desktop computer, whether using Win_FTP,
SmartFTP or Firefox. I'm using a Dell Desktop, Windows XP connected to
a cable modem by hard wire through a Linksys router. Yet another
desktop and notebook, both Windows XP, connecting wirelessly using the
same FTP clients can connect.
Check the FTP client on the machine that's not able to connect and
make sure that it's using passive mode. Active mode will not work from
behind an NAT router, you must use passive mode. (Note: the built-in
command like FTP client doesn't know anything about passive mode.)
