HP and other large PC builders have a special license key for the installation
of XP on large number of PCs. This key is only for factor installed version
and they still provide you with your own key for re-installs. However, you
should (or must) use the HP recovery CDs in order to use the key stuck to the
PC.

I own a tablet which is installed with Windows XP Professional. Later I
downloaded Service Pack2 and apply it. Now I wanted to do a repair but I
prompt for the CD key. I have entered the original key but it was invalid.
My question is do the CD changed after I have installed service pack 2 ?
If yes where should I obtain the new CD key ?
Nope, the original CD key should be still valid after installing SP2.
Check that you are entering it correctly.
