That is not the prob, they are read only and will stay read only.

All programs don't work....? Any error messages...? What do they do...?

I working on a new install of XP Home Edition and when I install new
programs they're not working. I took a look at the folder where they are
installed and it's "read only" and I can change that but when I look again
it's still "read only."

What am I doing wrong?
