Hi,
I hope I am posting this in the right newsgroup, if not please let me know
where I should post it. I have a Windows XP Home Edition machine on which I
want to open a command prompt window to run a batch file. The problem is that
the command prompt window opens for a few seconds, it doesn't show the prompt
(C:\Documents and Settings\....>), only the cursor ( _ ) and it dissapears
after 2-3 seconds. I tried to open it in all possible ways (Start | Run; with
or without /k; double click the .bat file; double click the cmd.exe firl in
Windows\System32) nothing seems to work.
Any ideea why this may happen?
Thank you

That behavior is often associated with a virus/spyware/trojan
infestation. Go to
