[[Prevents users from saving certain changes to the desktop. Users can
change the desktop, but some changes, such as the positions of open windows
or the size and position of the taskbar, are not saved when users log off.
Shortcuts placed on the desktop are always saved.]]

same problem.

I am used to having the taskbar vertically on the right had side of the
screen (Start button top Right).
My new system has had to be reformatted and have XP media edition
reloaded from scratch. One of the first things I did was move the
taskbar over to the
right, adjusted the width so that the word 'start' was just visible and
unchecked the 'Language' toolbar ( I only have english installed).
On rebooting the taskbar has remained on the right, but is narrower
than I set it, and the language toolbar has reappeared, so far this has
happened everytime, I reset and the system reverts!
Any ideas as to how I can get the system to accept the changes as it
should?
(please don't suggest a re-install, I'ts taken me all week-end so far)
regards
