Try all edges of the screen ... in case it was moved.
Also, use your Start button on the keyboard (second button to the left of
the space bar). Once the button is pressed, the taskbar ... wherever it is
pops forward.

Please bear with me, I am an old person who may not have all the lingo
correct:
All of a sudden, I cannot run my mouse to the edge of the window and
get a bar with icons of all the open programs. I believe I changed some
preference somewhere, but cannot figure out what it is. I can switch
windows by ALT TABbing, but wonder why the other facility has been
turned off.
Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
