Tried your suggestion and still nothing. No media Center, no updates and time
still won't sync. I have been working on this for weeks, I am so ready to
grab a hammer....
Anyway thanks for your input. Any other suggestions?
BTW the error is an "Installation error" I go to microsoft updates, push
express, or custom (doesn't matter) see the updates listed to download, click
on install, box comes up trying to download said updates, each one fails.
Close box go to "Review update history" click on red x status and error
message comes up in that as to why download failed.

Method 2:
1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools

example would
be as follows:
C:>proxycfg -p MYPROXY:80
After Action:
Once the proxy has been set, please use a new Internet Explorer window
and try to access Windows Update again.

Using WinXP SP2. I can't get my time to sync. It works when I unregister it
and reregister. Then it will display error message "the handle is
invalid...etc" after everytime I open Media center 2005 or Micrsoft Update.
Which brings me to my next problem. I am thinking these are interconnected
somehow because I can't keep my time synced, my media center will not connect
to the internet to download the guide and my microsoft updates always brings
up an error of "0x80072F78". Honestly I have tried EVERY posted fix from the
newsgroups, including the microsoft 'supposed'fix for this error and still
the same. So is it the time error causing the other problems? One more thing
I updated my bios to A09 a month ago, it crashed my computer, (I know I
shouldn't update bios unless theres a problem I know I know) I fixed it
myself by just removing the mainboard battery and reinserting it (phew) so I
am wondering if this is causing my problems cause I haven't been able to fix
this problem since then. Did something fry when it crashed? How could I tell?
Everything else works, I am running a cable modem with a splitter to connect
the media center and internet. IE6 works fine. I have tried each solution
with and without Nortons firewall enabled. Please any help would be
appreciated.
