You MUST boot from the Windows XP CD, whether retail or OEM, continue on to
where the installer looks for previous versions of an operating system on
your computer. If one is found, you CAN choose to repair said install. If
one is not found, your partitions are screwed up and you will have to start
from fresh.
You "will" lose everything.

just checked ,there is no option to repair on win xp pro and also win
xp home edition
i wish but there is none
i know usually is appear but not at this time

hi there,during changing size and place of partition with partition
magic software my girlfriend accidentally disconnected my laptop from
power ,result is is i cant boot system and partition format is
"unknown"
ive tried reinstall system but then only option is to format disk as a
ntfs or fat32 partition with is following me to erase all data from it
,this option is rather last because of pictures witch are priceless.
