Hello,
Go to your My Documents folder and delete the Default.rdp file. Its a hidden
file so you will have to turn on hidden files view within explorer first.
Try to launch RDP after that and observe if the problem still persists.

The resolution of the remote screen is 1280x1024. I purposely set the RDP
session to that and not full screen so I could ALT+TAB out of the RDP
session. The problem is when the window lauches, it may be lauching in
1280x1024 resolution, but the actual starting window size is about 1/8th
the
size of the screen. I have to drag and resize the window to make it
workable.

Hello,
What is the screen resolution of the remote machine set to ? If 1280x1024
is
lesser than the resolution of the remote machine, then you will get
scroll
bars on the RDP window and you woudl have to stretch the window to get a
full view of the remote desktop.
