Re: Multiple Windows Installations to pick from startup screen
Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Through having to reinstall Windows several times due to large hardware
changes, a RAID failure, and lastly just wanted a fresh insall, I now have
3
"Windows XP" to chose from at startup. There really is only one
installed,
as I have manually deleted the system files from the other
partitions/drives
that are the older installs. I would like to make it so either there is
just
the one correct install to pick, or better yet, not have to pick anything
to
get windows started. Of course, if I wait 25 seconds or something like
that,
it will then boot to the top choice... Any help is much appreciated!!
Go to Start | Run. Type in msconfig. Click ok. On the boot tab click on
check all boot paths. It should offer to delete the invalid ones. When the
system is rebooted it will pop up a dialog box about being in diagnostic
mode. Just check the box to not have it remind you again.
