I have an invisible spot on my hidden icons named mIRC Microsoft
Windows. Does anyone know what it is and how it got on my computer.
Also, how do I remove it if it is unwanted? Thanks, Clint
mIRC is an IRC chat program. If you don't use it, uninstall it from
Add/Remove Programs. If you didn't know what it is, then you don't
use it. ;-)

mIRC folder (from where it is found) and any shortcuts for the program
itself.
Well, it's in Add/Remove Programs on my son's machine since he uses
mIRC. On a lot of OEM machines, there is just the folder as you
describe which has the installer in it. So the OP's mileage may vary.
Since the OP mentions that mIRC is apparently running, he will probably
find it in Add/Remove Programs. Either way, he can get rid of it.
Although, if Clint's computer is actively running mIRC and he doesn't
know what it is or actually installed it, it's possible he's infected
with viruses and/or malware.
