Re: What client, services and protocol properties are mandatory for broadband connections?

If one's ISP is a cable broadband connection, and it's a standalone computer with the TCP/IP service disabled, what properties are mandatory in the local connection? I just see "client for MS networks" listed and enabled. Can I uncheck it and delete it?

You don't need "client for MS networks" but if you deselect it, some passwords may not be remembered. Re-checking "client for MS networks" will get them working again, and then you can deselect "client for MS networks" again. At least that worked with W98 machines.. You can deselect "File and Printer sharing" too.
