how do you know how computer literate you are? i am thinking about taking
a
medical coding class so i can work out of my home and i have a new windows
xp
and ive self taught myself for about 5 years now how to do the things i
know
how to do, which is e-mail i.m. shop, do searches, find different chat
sites. i basically have never used any of my f keys at the top of my
keyboard nor do i know what the right hand side keys are for past
backspace
and shift. one of the first things they tell you to do is brush up on
your
computer skills--but i dont know what they mean nor what level i would be
considered or what i need to learn so i dont flunk out in the basic
testing.
thanks s much

You should ask them for a list of prerequisites instead of just
making a sweeping statement such as "brush up on your computer
skills".

What's "medical coding", anyway? If it involves lots of data entry
then the ability to touch-type would come in very handy. Easy to
learn but it takes six months or more to become effective.
