RE: USB Driver List

It is a special piece of digital test equipment, so is not a common
commercial item such as a printer that you can just buy in a shop. I am
dealing with the manufacturer in the first instance but this post was
initially intended to see if maybe there was a way of investigating the
installation failure from XP point of view as I suspect the problem is with
my computer, not his test equipment (I have been having a few problems
lately, all started by problems experienced with a recent Windows Automatic
Update that caused me to chase my tail for more than two days thinking I had
a virus or something--I am not happy!)

sfc /scannow

Then try and see if you are having problems with the device. Note that
pluggable devices may work properly in some computers and completely fail in

options of repairing the entire installation via Recovery Console.

There is no list for usb drivers.

You can go to Device Manager and then browse to the last list. You will see
that it shows all the USB controllers on your machine and the id for each
port.

If you are facing problems with the usb ports then you can right click on
each usb name and then uninstall it. Then click on Scan for hardware changes.
Windows will detect the usb ports again and then reinstall the drivers for
all the ports. You will be able to remove the residue of the previous drivers.
