Hi,
It's a common error, there is a fix for it here:

When I double-click on a file or folder in My Computer, it opens a new My
Computer window with the Search option going. I don't want this, I just want
it to open the folder. For example: If I'm in My Computer and want to look
at a folder on the C Drive called My Filters to see what's in it, I hit the
little + symbol to drop down the options until I see the My Filters folder.
But double-clicking on My Filters doesn't open a window with the contents of
My Filters showing, it opens another window where I can search for a file or
folder.
How do I change the double-click default to OPEN, not Search? It didn't
used to do this, and Windows help file is no help at all.
Thanks
.
