And how is that going to help ?
I'm betting that she is not getting an IP address.
The Wireless connection reports that it has successfully connected to the
access point
No. You read her post wrong. She did not say that. She said, exactly...
"will say that it is connected". That's all she said.
and that means it has been assigned a valid IP address by the DHCP
server.
Except that she did not say that.

OP: Please make sure that you have valid credentials with your schools
network in order to gain access to the public internet.

While you have the reported "excellent" connection...
Go to a command line and type:
ipconfig /all > ipconfig.txt
This will produce a file called ipconfig.txt holding the contents of the
ipconfig /all command.
Copy this file's contents and paste it into this newsgroup for
evaluation.

I have tried that several times and it still doesnt work. There was
never a
code that they gave us. For example my yahoo would automatically
connect
when I turned on my computer.

Right-click on the wireless network icon on the right of your taskbar,
select "View Available Wireless Networks" and make sure you are
connecting
to the right one.
Also, if you are connected to the right one, try disconnecting and
reconnecting using the menu choices on that display. Perhaps they
changed
the passcode since you last used it.
