I am running Windows XP Pro 32bit w/ Service Pack 2 Version 2002
I am blue in the face with the problem I keep Experiencing and Need help
figuring out how to fix it.
Windows Explorer (File Browser) crashes randomly all the time. Here is
the
error information:
AppName: explorer.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180
ModName: explorer.exe
ModVer: 6.0.2900.2180
Offset: 000139f9
It also says this: An error output file will be created here:
C:\DOCUME~1\nls64\LOCALS~1\Temp\c9e0_appcompat.txt
When I go to this location on my computer c9e0.appcompat.txt does not
exist.
I have search everyone possible on the internet and no one has the answer
to
why this is happening or how to fix it.
Please post here if you have any information about this horrible Windows
Explorer Crashing Error.
You won't like my answer but here goes. Clean up your computer. Get a
program called "Adaware" and get rid of the
spyware(http://dw.com.com/redir?pid=10399602&merid=69274&mfgid=69274<ype=dl_dlnow&lop=btn&edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3120-8022_4-10399602&ontId=8022_4&dlrs=1&destUrl=http://www.download.com%2F3001-8022_4-10399602.html).
Next click on "Start/Run" and type in msconfig. Click on the "Startup tab"
and uncheck anything that you don't need, which is most everything(you will
have to do some googling to determine what to disable" If in doubt,
disable. You can always re-inable later.
Next, get rid of your Norton/McAfee antiviur and get a good one. I would
suggest AVG from grisoft.com. It's free.
Update your installation of Windows. Go to www.microsoft.com and click on
"windows update". (I would give you the direct link but the MS jerks won't
allow me because I use Firefox).
And the last step: Download Firefox and use it instead of IE. It can be
had at: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
