Last week a company called Virusburst infiltrated my computer through
another
file I was downloading. The result was that I had several icons on my
desktop
and a toolbar on the taskbar which keeps alerting me to the fact that
there
is virus activity on my system and that I need to download their software
to
get rid of the problem. As I am already covered by software from Zonelabs
I
am reasonably confident that I don't have a problem and that this is a
sneaky
scare marketing approach. I would not trust any company anyhow that used
such
marketing techniques.
I have deleted the files on the desk top and their corresponding programs.
However I cannot get rid of the toolbar on the taskbar. It is really
annoying
as the "critical error" message keeps popping up. I know I can hide the
toolbar but I want to get rid of it. The suggestions listed on the windows
help section do not help - ie right clicking on the toolbar and pressing
delete - as this only launches the Virusburst web site. I am given no
options
for deleting anyhow as no sub menu appears when I right click. If anyone
has
any idea how to get rid of this annoying toolbar I'd be really grateful.
