Re: Can't logon to my computer 2

I posted a problem I am having with logging on to my computer a couple days
ago and the solution that I have recieved thus far have not worked. The
original post is at this link:

I attempted to use the Shift + F10 loophole in the XP Installation Repair
process. When I entered the command console and typed NUSRMGR.CPL at the
command prompt I recieved a "User Account" message that stated the following:

"The current user account is not recognized. Restart the computer and then
open User Accounts."

Since I can not log on to open User Accounts, this message offers no help to
me. Has this happened to anyone else and how would I go about resolving this
problem (if possible to resolve on my own,) short of having to re-install the
OS and losing the existing data on my computer? Would a data recovery
service be needed (or is that a bit overboard for the current problem?)

Thanks in advance for any input and thank you to those who helped with my
previous query.

Regards,
TDL

To backup the data install the drive in another XP or Windows 2000 computer as a slave drive, then copy the important data. Always, always have a full and complete backup.

I posted a response to your original message. Did you try anything I posted? What were the results? It's hard to help you if you don't stay in the same thread and give feedback on what happened with the suggestions provided.
