Re: incorrect user name or password error at start up

Hi Lenny,

It looks like the system is trying to automatically logon with incorrect
credentials. Assuming that you know the password for your user account, try
this:

When the Welcome Screen appears, press and hold the SHIFT key. This disables
automatic logon for that session. Then login to an administrator account,
and follow the steps given below to remove the incorrect credentials (stored
in the registry):

Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type control
userpasswords2, and then click OK. In the dialog box that appears, enable
Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer check box,
and then click OK.

Hi,
When I start my computer I get a Login Error that says 'Incorrect username
or password' and an OK button only. If I leave it or click on the OK button
a few seconds later the computer reboots (only the once) and then works fine
for the rest of the day. This happens every time I shut the computer down
and restart. I can't see anything relevant in the event viewer logs.
