Try either of these links:

http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Or Google for: reset xp password.

Let us know.

If I do this, however, won't I lose all personal data on my computer? If
that is the case, that is unacceptable and I will probably look to get
another computer and find a way to recover the data.

I hope someone can help.
Yesterday when I turned on my computer I found a new user account on
the
logon window called ASPNET. Iy is my understanding that this user is
created
after .Net 1.1 is loaded onto the computer. I have never had any
success in
uploading .Net 1.1 in the past so I assume it was uploaded after the
last
automatic update. Regardless, when I attempted to login under the
Owner user
I was prompted for a password, I have never set a password. When I hit
enter
with the password left blank I recieve a "Logon Message" that states,
"The
local policy of this system does not permit you to logon
interactively."

When I attempted to logon to my computer through Safe Mode I was still
prompted for a password. On Safe Mode logon page the users
'Administrator'
and 'ASPNET' are present. I attempted to logon as 'Administrator', but
was
prompted for a password and the same problem as above occurred. I even
reset
the Administrator password through BIOS and that had no effect. I am
at a
loss as to how to resolve this issue. I literally can not get onto my
computer. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a HP Pavilion ze5300 and I run Windows XP Home Edition.

TDL
