Something 'clogging' the works up, looking at whats running in Task
manager might provide a clue. Have you tried defragging the hard
drive, and clearing Temp. Internet files in Internet Options, also a
Virus and Spyware scan might also help.
In safe mode it's only the bare essentials that are running, so seems
to suggest that looking at the start up files might help in
msconfig.
Click Start, type msconfig in the run bar
and click ok a new window will open, look at the far right and you
will see Services and Start up tabs, worth checking both.
A good idea should any alteration be made here is to a note in a book,
ie a log so one could easily revert back at any time. If you make any
changes here you will get a warning popping up telling you that
changes have been made every time you boot up... simply click the box
in the window thats says 'do not show this again' and it'll not pop up
again.
Care must be taken when making alterations to the Start up &
System files, these are loaded into RAM at boot up, looking in Task
Manager under the Performance tab might throw pointers.
