Often, when trying to boot windows, there is an audible "click" from
the
computer and the boot hard disk seems to power off.
I have tried increasing the boot time-out to no evail.
What is frustrating is that it happens sparodically. Once Windows
eventually boots the HD works fine.

Any ideas?

back up your data at once
and replace the drive!!!!
