My local folder was set to as "Encrypt Contents to secure data".

Last week my login profile got corrupted. Got in as Admin and re-named the
profile and then re-logged in again. Now I can see the contents of this
folder but when opening a file the I get a message say I have insufficient
privileges. Get the same message even as Admin.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance

Hemant

See if taking ownership of the folder and files helps. In Help and Support search on ownership or see this KB article.

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP

If that doesn't work and you used EFS - Encrypting File System - did you make a backup copy of the certificate or designate a recovery agent?
