I did remove it but that's not the problem Now I got a third error something like MNANE.EXE Not sure went by too fast to
write it down. It seems these are all problems but are not related to NIS
First there was the Goggle Desktop than the ccappe and then the mnane?

You might have to go to Norton's site and get the removal tool. Uninstalling Norton NIS is not an
easy set of software to remove and it does not always totally go away with the Ad/remove windows
tool.

I did the uninstall of NIS and rebooted twice but still had the system not shutting off. It must be
something else

CCAPP.EXE is part of Norton/Symantec Anti-virus program. You might have
to uninstall and reinstall the program.

After I uninstalled Goggle Desktop I tried to shut down again and noticed
this error message.this is not the exact
message but the best I can remember.
CCAPP.exe memory could not be written instruction 0x74736e49 memory at
0x6afdleb8.
Hope this will help.

same time of shut down.
I uninstalled it but didn't help.
This was the only thing in that web site that could be affecting this.
Also the names of the computer was in the System Volume Information
Security tabs. In my user accounts it is just
RScotti. Didn't realize this to afterwards.

Hi,
My system will not shut down unless I hold in the power knob. All the
icons disappear than nothing
happens. This happens
on log off and shut down as well as System Restore.
What has changed since my last good time?
I probably did a stupid thing I wanted to see what was in System Volume
Information so I used the
instructions from the
MS Site to access it BUT I didn't change anything. Honest.
I also changed my Administrator's name, I was able to log off at that
point but when it gave me
the old names and new
name together.First I went back in and tried to change it back but than
it had two names the same.
I went from RSCOTTI/HP_Administrator to
RScotti/RSCOTTI/HP_Administrator to
HP_Administrator/RSCOTTI/HP_Administrator
I tried to use System Restore to go back and correct this and That's
when I noticed this problem.
I tried disconnecting my external HD but that was not the problem. As
far as I know I didn't do
anything else?
I have an HP Pavilion A1440N Desktop with OEM Windows XP MCE 2005.
2 GB Ram, 250 GB HD with a Recovery partition (D:)
If there is anything else you need let me know. I will be monitoring
this NG for a reply.
Thanks.
Have a good day,

You have some program that is not quitting. You will have to do some
investigation. It will be
time consuming, but start with the suggestions in
