Hi,

I've seen this happen when WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) is enabled. Run
msconfig and disable it on the services tab, see if it helps.

Are you brainy enough to sort this out without re-installing?

BTW I am not, before you ask. :-)

XP pro was working fine until I logged into a Microsoft SBS domain which
has global security policy installed and running.

Now my pc runs ok apart from being very slow when using explorer to search
for files ect..

(if connected to the domain or on it's own).

The file icons also take ages to show whilst in an explorer window.

Restoring to a previous date has made no difference.

I have up to date antivirus installed, no adware found, no spyware found.

All xp updates installed, (could one of the latest updates have caused
this?)

Thank you for your time.
