Thanks for the quick response. I had previously checked Kelly's site, but
certainly missed that. Next time I'm over at my son's house, I'll try the
method of removing the last application in Registry where it was advised.
I didn't understand the instruction about "either .... remove the negative
number..." (from the DisplayIcon)
I'll post back on the results. Thanks again.

The Add-Remove program on my son's PC (XP-SP2) appears to be corrupted.
When opened, it appears normal up to letter "L" series of programs. Then
it shows about 3 full screens of just blank white space; then following
that are about 2-3 full screens of the same white space but with a 3"
wide vertical black space running down the middle of the screen. After
that the programs pick up at the "M" series of programs.
The Add-Remove functions seem to work OK, but it's like waiting for a
cyber bomb to go off. I've checked the MVP sites I have bookmarked and
couldn't find anything that related to this problem.
