after starting windows, it loads, and before it shows your usernames, the screen goes blank and it never shows the usernames. this has happened several times to me before, and i've only tried reinstalling windows. but my mistake is that i reinstall windows into the windows folder, which erases all users and userfiles. how can i recover the lost user data?
Windows XP logon screen does not appear and the computer continuously restarts

To recover the data put the drive as a slave drive in another XP computer and copy the data.
If you have had problems before and lost data, why do you not have a full and complete backup of all important data? Once bitten? Always have a complete backup.
