Add-Remove Program file corrupted?

The Add-Remove program on my son's PC (XP-SP2) appears to be corrupted. When
opened, it appears normal up to letter "L" series of programs. Then it shows
about 3 full screens of just blank white space; then following that are
about 2-3 full screens of the same white space but with a 3" wide vertical
black space running down the middle of the screen. After that the programs
pick up at the "M" series of programs.

The Add-Remove functions seem to work OK, but it's like waiting for a cyber
bomb to go off. I've checked the MVP sites I have bookmarked and couldn't
find anything that related to this problem.
