Installing IIS - Please help

For the life of me I can't figure this out, and I'm desperate for help.
First, my hardrive died and I lost EVERYTHING. You think I'd have
learnt after the Great Crash Of 2000, and the Great Crash Of 2003, but
no. The new hardrive they've given me is awful... and now IIS is giving
me a hard time! I'm not a happy bunny.
So, I'm running a Windows XP Professional SP2 that has been applied
with all the latest patches.
I try and install IIS from the Add / Remove Windows Component screen in
the Control Panel with the default settings. I get prompted for the
i386 folder, so I direct it to that... and then I get this error:
"Setup could not copy one or more files. The specific error code is
0x4b8"
I've tried different CD's... I've got a MSDN subscription, so I've
downloaded the ISO's, mounted them - no luck.
I've seen Microsofts article here:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=894351, and inline with their
instructions followed the procedure outlined in Method 2.... to no
avail. I STILL get the same error message.
Please please will someone help me out with this!
