Dell's built-in fan control is for lack of a better term - pretty bad.
The thresholds and Rotational speed are inadequate to keep a
notebook cool. Here is a program written specifically to give a
Dell owner more control of the fan operation on their notebook.

Yes, but since this is a laptop the OP will probably not be able to
replace
the fan herself. She should contact Dell tech support.
