Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

The file is probably infected with a virus and your virus scanner
takes care of it before it can do any damage. Check your virus
scanner log. If this is the case, be more careful about the things
you download.

I try to download a file and once the download is complete, the icon while
appear for only a split second if at all and then disappear. Please help,
