Wow, now that is an endorsement of this toy operating system if I ever
heard
one! 5 hours of time wasted to get the latest updates. Now isn't that an
efficient and convenient way to run ones computer. Sorry, but I snipped
the
rest of your sad experiences. It was just getting too painful to read. :-)

Thanks for the sympathy - I did do things slowly on purpose. It worked last
Black Tuesday and the one before - the one before that I did them all
together and regretted it.
Now looking forward to the next 'trial by Microsoft's.
The endorsements are even better in that discussion group - I spent upwards
of 5 hours - some of those poor buggers are still trying to sort out their
servers and systems. Some have still not got things sorted since the
release date.
Mine is running better than before the updates - its daft.
No wonder Kurt is away trying to find out how Linux works ;-) ;-)
