When "automatic updates" is set to "notify me but do not download and
install" then
an instance of svchost.exe is blocking my computer when a connection with
the internet is being established after boot-up.
With blocked I mean CPU-load at almost 100% for about half a minute (which
is very annoying).
I do not have this problem when I choose for one of the other
possibilities
w.r.t. "automatic updates" in the "security center".
I read about a lot of people suffering from this on the web, and I thought
that XP-users and MS might be helped with this contribution.
Hi George
Your thread caught my attention re svchost.exe - see my recent post
Black Tuesday update mess - I have 5 of those showing in Task Manager
Any connection?
