Re: Windows XP will not restart after updates.

That's all the options I am presented with. What's next? Thanks.

Repair install.

I accepted and installed some MS updates this morning and can't get
WindowsXP to start.

I see the - Checking file system on C:
The type of the file system is FAT32.
One of your discs needs to be checked for consistency,...ect.
I let it check to 100%.
I see - Windows has checked the file system and found no problems.

After a few minutes on the HD light flashing the computer re-boots.

I now see - We apologize for the incovenience,...ect.

I choose Safe Mode. This generates a screen full of drivers that read
like
this -
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partion(1)\windows\system32\Drivers\ag0440.sys
The HD light flashes.

After 10 minutes of this I push the reset button.

I've choosen Safe Mode with Command Prompt and Safe Mode with Networking
with the same result.

I push reset. I get - Checking file system on C... again. I let it check
to 100%. It fnishes telling me - Windows checked the file system and
found
no problems. The HD light flashes for a few minutes then the computer
re-boots itself.

I choose - Last Known Good Configuration. I get - Checking file system on
C
...again. I let it check to 100%. No problems. HD light flashes.
Computer
re-boots.

I choose - Start Windows Normally. I get - Checking file system on C
..again. I let it check to 100%. HD light flashes for a few minutes and
computer re-boots itself.

That's all the options I am presented with. What's next? Thanks.
